Facilities Scheduler How-To Guide

Facilities Usage Rules & Guidelines:

  • No groups may use the Dodgeville High School batting cages until a full training session is completed by the high school program coaches and/or the district activities director.

  • The batting cage spaces will be permitted to co-curricular activities first, then permitted to non-school groups after that.  The facilities request form will be used to determine any fees for the space based on the request for any non-school groups or groups that do not consist of primarily Dodgeville School District students.

  • No food, gum or sunflower seeds inside the facility.  Water is permitted but if spilled must be wiped up immediately.

  • Use of the facility is a privilege so please treat it that way.

  • Equipment in the storage area must be obtained and replaced under adult supervision.

  • If anything is broken or not operating properly it must be reported immediately.

  • Patrons will be charged for damages.

Batting Cage Usage

Pre-Cage Usage:

  • Mats to protect the floors must be put out when the cage is in use.

  • Participants will wear adequate protective gear appropriate for their sport.  This includes batting helmets for batters and catching gear including masks for catchers.

  • Anyone pitching a batting practice round must use a protective screen.  There should also be screens set up for protection if the cage is split.  There should be a screen behind the batter to protect the cage net.

  • Only one hitter and one pitcher can be allowed in the cage area during batting practice.  Those waiting to swing should be no closer than 10 feet.

  • Warm-up swings must be taken outside the cage.

  • Baseballs and softballs used outside the cage for drills must be approved indoor balls.

  • Shoes used must be approved for indoor use only.

Post-Cage Usage:

  • Balls must be picked up after each batter.

  • Equipment in the storage area must be obtained and replaced under adult supervision.

  • All equipment must be placed in storage after use.

  • Please double check all spaces before leaving and report any damages.

  • When the facility is no longer in use make sure all doors are locked and the building secured.

  • If a key FOB or other keys were used, please return to the key-box before leaving.

  • Non-returned FOBs or keys will be charged per facilities usage agreement.
