Welcome Kari DeClerk

Kari Declerk

We are excited to announce that Kari DeClerk will be joining the Dodgeville Elementary School as a K-2 Special Education Teacher!

Get to know Kari...

Hometown: Windom, Minnesota

College and Major: After graduating High School, I went to North Carolina State University on a volleyball scholarship and then transferred to Montana State University where I eventually earned an interdisciplinary degree that combined agriculture, regional literature, and American Indian studies, and after that I earned an elementary education degree.

Previous Employment: I spent many years before and during my time in college experiencing various educational settings and regional cultures as an aid in elementary schools and as a substitute teacher in multiple schools until I started a family. While my two children were young, I completed an internationally accredited Montessori teacher training program and then opened and taught in a rural Montana preschool for nine years and coached volleyball for the local district. Before moving to Wisconsin last fall for my husband's employment, I was teaching in a middle school and coaching high school volleyball.

Why Dodgeville? Special education has long been an interest of mine, and I am very excited for the opportunity to work at the elementary school in Dodgeville and look forward to working with students and getting to know the community!
